Obsessed with wildlife from a young age, I've always loved drawing plants and animals. After a decade working in military research, I rekindled my passion and pursued a degree in natural science illustration from the University of Washington. During the day, I support communications and development for the Puget Sound Estuarium, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching marine science to the South Sound Community, and in my free time I work on personal and commissioned art projects.

I love the scientific illustration process, because it demands a near-meditative state to understand a species and depict intricate details often missed by photographs or the human eye. I'm content stippling or cross-hatching for hours, continually fascinated by how a few dots, or a few thousand, can convey so much. Fine-tip and rapidograph pens are my preferred medium because they offer the most control and elaborate details.

I'm open to commissions and collaborations, and I love the opportunity to connect with fellow artists!
